Fitting and Usage
Soil & Waste Fitting Considerations
Key considerations when installing soil and waste management, include: (1) pipe size, which should be adequate to handle the expected waste volume; (2) proper slopes, to ensure correct gravity-based flow; (3) proper sealing, to prevent leaks; (4) compliance with local building codes and regulations.
When positioning pipes, consider access for ease of maintenance, and other utilities, to avoid interference. Ventilation is another important factor, as it helps to prevent pressure build-up and allow gases to escape, therefore reducing blockages and unpleasant odours. Cowls and Air Admittance Valves can be used to provide ventilation, whilst pipes, bends, and junctions fitted with an access point allow maintenance to be carried out.
To ensure that rubber sealing rings donāt become unseated during installation, the use of Pipe Lubricant is highly recommended.
