Opal polycarbonate allows light through to keep it bright, but reduces solar gain concentrating on one area. So, it eliminates uncomfortable hot-spots, provides privacy and creates softer light quality.

10mm opal polycarbonate sheets are great for carports, pergolas and lean-tos. For large application, a thicker 16mm polycarbonate may be preferable and 25mm or 35mm for conservatories

Polycarbonate is a great insulator that also reduces condensation and diffuses light. It can also be more energy efficient than glass of a comparable thickness and up to 50% cheaper.
